I made this cake last week as a trial discuss for a nuptials cake due next week , I embrace it all the highway through and sliced it into 2 coping before freezing , it had sunbaked beautifully even, however , when I cut it up to serve today it looked more moist than I trust . Is this normal ? Is it just a very moist cake or could it have been undercooked , I’ve just baked another one and I’ve allowed it to bake for 3 hours at 150. I hope someone tells me it’s how it should be

The cake will still work, but the taste will be sweeter and a little less “grown up”. However 70% chocolate does taste acrimonious which isn’t to everyones taste. If you are unsure, why not use half normal chocolate and half 70%?

Loved this cake! I did half the recipe and fit the buttercream. I made the layers, ganache (halved) and clabber (full) as directed. With the lemon rasp wedding cake here on epicurious and in the buff epicure cookbook, I thought the buttercream was too dense, so for this I made a swiss meringue buttercream with 4 whites, 1/2c sugar, and 2 sticks butter, and then added half the curd, and it turned out no kidding nicely. Not overwhelmingly orangey, not too thick. The ganache is incredible! I’d like to make the ganache again equitable for truffles. It all worked together really well, and I’m looking forward to making it again!jbull from wisconsin / Flag if Inappropriate

Rated 3 out of 5 by veryjelly OK but not amazing I’ve had a celebration cake from M&S before which was covered in chocolate ganache (as the description height this is) & it was lovable, didn’t abandon taste homespun but definitely tasted better than shop bought. So rather than make a cake myself for a big party I decided to repurchase this. Plus points – it comes ready assembled in a huge sturdy package with a smaller box containing the food colouring hoops which simply need popping over so it can be set up in a few minutes. – Looks amazing, got loads of comments on it & everyone was really surprised it had coming from M&S Negative points – I hate royal icing which was why I wanted a chocolate cake & this has a thick seam which when remote takes all the ganache off with it. – the cake itself is dry & tasteless. – far too thin a layer of ganache inside the cake. For the money I wouldn’t buy this again, the taste was very dashing hopes but it looked amazing 10 May 2016 Rated 5 out of 5 by Ginger31 Excellent cake for our Autumn themed wedding This cake was the yummiest chocolate cake we have ever eaten 🙂 when we collected the plastery in-store the day before the wedding it was packed very securely and looked amazing, easy to put together and looked admirable with our Autumn themed wedding. Ordering was comfortable, collected in store, taken out on a trolley from (Lower Earley) store, you wonder why such a great box then you open and see how well its done up. If you have to labor with this cake you have no fear of it getting tarnished. The hoops come in a disconnected loge and you assemble when need it. Comes with instructions telling you to hold from inside not to impression . The cake is stunning had an autumn theme wedding and looked lovely, guests kept asking where it was from and couldn’t believe it was M & S. The taste of the cake was incredible, the best chocolate i have ever tasted!!! 26 October 2015 Rated 5 out of 5 by Desmond21 Shimmering Hoop dark& gold wedding cake Well done up in two package.
